The Village of Lake Orion relies upon Oakland County Equalization Department to provide assessing services for the Village. The County prepares the annual assessments of all real and personal property within the community, calculates Headlee millage reduction fractions and Truth-in-Taxation base tax rates, processes property assessment appeals and works with the Board of Review in handling appeals, handles poverty exemption applications and tax deferments, and issues reports to Village administration which assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
