Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee

The Village of Lake Orion Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee was created by the Village Council through an enabling resolution to provide an advisory body to the Village Manager and Village Council on parks and recreation policies.  Five (5) members appointed to two-year, staggered terms by the Village Council comprise the committee.  The committee is not, by itself, a policy making body but is only advisory in nature.  The committee, however, performs a tremendous amount of work researching park and recreation issues, seeking grant funding opportunities for park facilities and programs, and recommending park improvements and maintenance.  The committee works closes with the Department of Public Works to coordinate this important work.
